What can we learn from investigating the DNA of ancient creatures?
The winner of the 2022 Nobel Prize in Physiology and Medicine, Dr. Svante Pääbo, and his research topic "discovery of extinct human genomes and human evolution." The Nobel Prize, conferred for "contributing to the well-being of mankind," has been awarded for the study of extinct human beings who are no longer on earth. How does this research connect to present day viewpoints on humanity and society?

In October, everyone once again enjoyed the announcement of the Nobel Prize winners by Miraikan via "Niconico live broadcast". This time, in addition to expanding upon the details of the research that could not be conveyed that day, we also invited an expert on the history of human evolution, Dr. Yousuke Kaifu, for this special event to discuss the intrigue of this research!
