"Lab for Creating the Future" Demonstration Experiment

At the "Lab for Creating the Future," we conduct demonstration experiments where you can be among the first to experience technologies under development and exchange ideas with researchers.

◆ Demonstration Experiment Themes

◎ Using digital signage video technology to encourage changes in human behavior and create the urban spaces of the future.

In public spaces such as busy downtown areas of large cities, stations, airports, and commercial facilities, many large monitors called "digital signage" are installed, displaying various videos such as advertisements and news.

Research is underway that seeks to encourage changes in the behavior and feelings of people in these locations by not only broadcasting advertisements and information on these signs but also adding effects using new video technologies.
For example, by changing the direction and position of people walking through station corridors to alleviate congestion, we aim to create urban spaces where people can walk comfortably and enjoyably.

◎ Experience 1: Walk through the signage space and experience changes in your behavior!

We will display videos incorporating optical illusions on multiple signs to verify how the behavior of people walking through the space changes.
Will human movement and flow change because of the signage? Let's actually walk through the signage space and experience the change for yourself.

◎ Experience 2: Experience changes in your feelings with linked signage video!

By linking multiple signs and projecting dynamic imagery, we will verify how people's feelings change.
Will you feel power and a sense of presence from the video, or will you feel relaxed?
Please observe the changes in your feelings while looking at the signage video.
