Summer Holiday Special Event ‘Look Very Deep Sea! –What is the world like at 7800 meters deep?’ <Venue: Sony Explora Science>

Dates: Saturday 26 July – Sunday 31 August 2014

At this exhibition, we exhibit the Edokko-1 (Edokko Ichigo), a small unmanned submersible which dived to a depth of 7,800 meters in the Japan Trench in November 2013 with a SONY 3D full hi-vision video camera. There is also a lecture about what the world is like in the deep sea where the water pressure is very high and no radio waves can reach. Participants can learn about hard glass bulbs which enable searches in such a severe environment and under water electric wave communication technology.

On top of that, you can see images of deep-sea fish at these depths which were captured using a 3D full hi-vision video camera, with comments on deep-sea fish.

It might be ideal for a summer holiday research project. We look forward to seeing you at Sony Explora Science.
