Special Exhibition [Lesson #3.11~ Learning from the Data]<Venue: Miraikan>

On March 11th 2011, Japan experienced the devastating Tohoku Earthquake. The combined impact of the earthquake, tsunami, and the accident at the Fukushima Daiichi Nuclear Plant caused immeasurable damage. In the aftermath, Japanese society has faced numerous problems. Six years have passed since the disaster – what have we learned? What has changed?

Lesson 3.11 is an opportunity to address the importance of issues relating to nuclear power, natural disasters, and the type of energy sources we choose. These topics will be raised for discussion, along with the presentation of the latest scientific data. Participants will have a chance to voice their opinions as they ponder some of these as yet unresolved problems in a lesson format. In addition, a case study will be introduced that will hopefully shed light on some of the issues we face.
