Laugh, then Think: 2017 Ig Nobel Prize<Venue: Miraikan>

The Ig Nobel Prize was founded in 1991 as a parody of the Nobel Prize. The prize is awarded for achievements in scientific research that “first make people laugh, and then make them think.” For ten years running, Japanese have been among those awarded the prize. This year’s results are hotly anticipated.

The announcement will be made on the morning of Friday 15th September, Japanese time. At Miraikan, our very own Science Communicators will deliver a mini talk on this humourous prize. The next day, the internet-based program ‘Nico Nico Live Broadcast’ will be aired, and the Science Communicators will give us the low-down about this year’s prize winners.

Dates: Wednesday 10th September - Monday 18th September 2017

Venue: Miraikan, 5F, Permanent Exhibition Space [Small Studio]
