Kaoru Nishimi works as a doctor at a hospital. A single photo adorns busy Kaoru’s desk – taken during summer over ten years ago, the photo shows three smiling senior high school students from an unforgettable year in their lives…

Kaoru had recently moved schools, and a fateful encounter with the wild Sentaro leads him down a musical path, cementing the two unlikely friends’ bond with one another. They often spend time jamming together on the piano and drums, and both are protective of Sentaro’s childhood friend, Ritsuko. Before long, Kaoru falls in love with Ritsuko, only to find out that her heart lies with Sentaro. As their passions rage under the surface, the music the two boys make is exceptional. Such happy days weren’t to last… When Sentaro finds out Ritsuko’s feeling for Kaoru, he disappears from their life.
