12th Dream Yosacoy Festival

【Dates and Time】
November 2, Saturday 12:00 to 21:00pm
November 3, Sunday 10:00 to 21:00pm

The Dream Yosacoy Festival is in its the 12th year. Featuring around 6,000 dancers in about 80 teams, and watched by some 500,000 spectators, it is one of the largest and highest-quality festivals held in Tokyo.

Hear the non-stop sound of noisemakers in Odaiba, Marunouchi, and Yurakucho!

Yosakoi festivals, which combine tradition and modernity, are unique even within Japan. Perhaps this is because Yosakoi can be described as a tradition that has not simply been handed down. Instead, it is constantly changing and incorporating the trends, sensibilities, performance (including music and dance), and costume design of the era. People watching this dance for the first time will instinctively understand this by hearing the traditional “Yosakoi Naruko Odori” song rearranged in rock or samba styles. Yosakoi dance in this style is held throughout Japan. The folk songs and folklore of each place are arranged for
the dance, and the music is both dramatic and lively. The wonderful quality of Yosakoi dance is that its flexible tradition gives the dancers freedom, which inspires their sensitivity and creativity, and appeals to viewers.

If you feel inspired by the charm of Yosakoi dance, feel free to jump in and participate. Free lessons to learn traditional Yosakoi Naruko Odori dance from Kochi will be held at the venues in Odaiba, by Fuji Television, and in front of Yurakucho Station, so you can learn to dance right away. You will need a noisemaker, which are available at the Yosakoi promotional areas at the venues.

Why not take part in this dream-like performance being transmitted from Tokyo?
